2001 Digital Odometer

the digital odometer on my friends 2001 sunfire flickers often.. from the actual reading to different numbers and such.. any ideas?

mine does that a bit too. sometimes the numbers will go crazy or it will flicker sometimes, or it flashes trip. although im not too concerned about it, if anyone knows what the problem is...please do tell.

My son has a 2000 Cavalier and I have a 2001 Sunfire and we both had the same problems. There was a cold solder joint on the odometer component on the speedometer cluster. If you know how to take the dash apart you can take the cluster out and get someone to re-solder these joints. If you take it into a dealership don't let them convince you to replace the cluster. This will fix the problem but it will cost you plenty.
