klunk noise from tranny?

when my 85 2.8L V6 is in drive it shifts hard from 2nd down to 1st but doesn't shift hard any other time please tell me this isn't to bad

Mine does that too.

Might be the time for a tranny filter and fluid flush and change.

the fluid is still bright red but i really don't know how long it's been there so how do i do the tranny flush, where is the filter at, and what kind of fluid should i use. and just out of curiosty does your make the klunk noise when downshift to first?

Sometimes it does.

I would take it to the shop to have the flush and fill and filter change done.
