oh the sorrow!
i put tamiya clear over decal masters carbon fiber and the deals warped. such shame. is there a way to just take the clear and decals off and paint another color over the tamiya pearl white thats already there? i think i just wanna do red or grey to match my red and black interior and get this project over with. suggestions anyone?

Hey,
You can try wet sanding. It is tedious mind you. Frank X. |

Oh no.. TS-13 clear is EVIL..!! I applied this to my car and it eat the edge of the paint for me.. My car body looked awfiul.. I hate this stuff.. I had to drop my car body in Brake Fluid and start again. I was not happy, and when I cleared it again I was VERY careful, with VERY light coats. 15 minutes apart 4 coats, all light apart from the very last, a little wet, but not enough to burn the edges again.. Got away with it, but I will never use it on decals. To many horror tales , just like this one.
Wet sanding could work, I would just strip. Heart breaking, but it gets it back to plastic and you can start again.. Unless someone with more knowledge knows otherwise..!! They are talented on here.. |

Re: oh the sorrow!
If you have a airbrush try Modelmasters Metalizer sealer, it dries fast and polish good. Smells bad though, but then again...so is Tamiya laquers too. The one below is in MM sealer.

Hi guys,
About using the Tamiya clear spray, would it still eat the decals if it was decanted and sprayed through an airbrush? Is it the lacquer or the mixture with the propellant that makes it eat decals? I'm off to suffer another asthma attack, later, Yi-Wei |
