I am about to buy a 01 Yukon, do I need the extended warrenty? It is certified, so it comes with a 3mo 3000mi warrenty.
Thanks Ryan |

Re: Extended Warrenty
Hi,
the Yukon is full of electronic control modules, meaning that many repairs are quite expensive. It depends on how good the policy is and what is covered. There were some threads on this in either the GMC Yukon or Chevy Suburban forum. I think that GM's extended warranty expires at 100,000 miles. My 01 Yukon has 92,000 miles, so it may be too late depending on your mileage. I did the basic stuff on mine for insurance: change the fuel filter, flush the tranny, put synthetic into the differentials and transfer case, switch to Mobil 1 oil. Keep fuel level over 1/4 to cool the fuel pump. No problem yet in 20,000 miles. Take care, Eggert
