Radiator starting to leak - '93
Radiator on my '93 1.0 MT has developed a small leak around the top seam. It's the radiator itself, not the cap or hose. Where is the best place on-line to get a good price, including shipping, on a replacement? Jim

there is an outfit called radiator doctor nationwide, I think you are east coast right? You can always check E-bay, but I would buy new on this one they shouldn't be more than 175$ plus shipping! call 1-888-252-0333 and they will point you to a distributor near you!

Check out ebay too. I've seen them on there for $115+$15 shipping, brand new from ebay stores.

You can pay whatever you want for these things.
FYI I was looking for a radiator for my '94 S15 Jimmy with oil/tranny coolers. I looked everywhere (eBay, on-line parts, local auto parts stores etc.). They were all asking $200+ for it. By chance I was at a used parts yard and they were able to get me a new radiator with copper side tanks for $125. So before you commit to buying one and paying more than you should, give your local used parts yard a call and see if they can order one for you. And there is nothing wrong with buying one from a boneyard if you can pressure test it and make sure it is solid. I see used ones on eBay all the time. You take your chances with these but sometimes you can get a real bargain. Another tip: never put "Stop Leak" in your radiator. Replace the radiator instead. Stop Leak = clogged heater core. Radiator takes 30 mins to change. Heater core will take you all day... Been there, done that. FYI

Thanks for all the good info. I ordered a new one on the Internet for $103 which included shipping. It is suppose to be here tomarrow. I'll say who I got it from after I put it in and make sure it works. Looks like an easy job if this blasted cold wind would stop....

Well, the new radiator is in and all is well. Ordered it at 7:30am on the Internet and it arrived the next afternoon and was installed by the end of that afternoon.
Easy job really. Removed the top and bottom water hoses, overflow line, electrical connection to the fan and the two top bolts which hold the radiator in place. Then took the old radiator, with fan, in the house cause it was getting a little windy. Transferred the fan to the new radiator via the four bolts that hold it in place. Reconnected everything and checked for leaks. Test run and a top off and it was done. Radiator brand was CSF and I got it from www.radiatorbarn.com for a total cost, shipping included, of $102.43.
