00 Police Impala Shaking with Acceleration

I have a 2000 Police Impala with 74K miles. When I accelerated from 30 through 45 mph I get a shaking in the car. It seems to come from the left side. Note: The steering wheel is not shaking (Rotors). When I let off the gas it stops shaking. It will start again with acceleration. Seems to stop when I get to around 50 mph but picks up again at 70mph.

I have had the tires checked, rebalanced, car aligned, and the brakes checked -- all OK. Any help would be GREATLY apprecitated.

Thank you.

It feels like the whole car shakes not either of the pedals. Thank you for your reply.

well, I cant think of anything definite, but one thing is perhaps the shaking at different speeds and not others, might be the road itself. but if your tires were balanced and everything, perhaps the suspension, maybe broken spring, control arm. but id have the suspension checked.

Is it a flutter type of shake?

Noticable or Violent car shake?

Could be something with the transmission, Try Checking the Tranny Fluid to see if there is lots of black or grey in the liquid.

Try this go out to your car take the e-brake off and leave it in park, lift the hood up then start to rock the car front to rear. If u see the engine start to shake and move back and forth u need new engine mounts. I experienced the same thing you mentioned and after new engine mounts the problem went away. Good luck

Thanks. I will have it checked. I just had the damn wheel bearing assembly changed on the right side because the "mechanic" heard it clicking on the hoist with a scope. No luck. Damn thing is getting too expensive to keep guessing at fixes.

so have you figuredd it out yet. if not I got an idea. I was at sutozone and while waiting I was looking at there mats with common problems that they lay out, and it said somethingl ike, shaking at higher speeds, clunks at lower speeds, whining around turns or something. you dont have all these symtoms, but it said the cv joint. but I believe if you ended up getting your suspension checked out they would have found that. but its worth looking into.

Thanks for the tip. I have been going absolutely crazy with this damn shaking. NOBODY can seem to figure it out. I will have to check the CV Joint. Don't know what it is but will have to ask. Probably cost my left nut to fix. I will post later to see if it helped. Thanks again.

My car started whining around turns after I took a 'somewhat' hard 180 turn. No tire screech or anything, just a hard turn. I'd hate to think I broke something else in my suspension

Re: Re: Re: Re: 00 Police Impala Shaking with Acceleration

ok, a 180 "turn" is not a turn, ok, its a turn-around. which does have the word turn in it, but if you "turn" 180, your going back the way you came. that aint no turn. so unless you were pulling a fast u-turn, but when you say a hard 180 turn, im thinking at like 50 mph and that aint no turn. maybe its just the smart ass in me but that just doesnt sound right. but if you did turn hard, and escpesially when most people do u-turns or turn for a long period of time they turn the wheel as far as it can go, if you do that, you can listen close and hear the power steering pump makes noises, tom e they sound like the power steering pump creaming lay the fuck off of me. anyways if I can get the smart ass out of me for now. dont turn your wheel all the way, ease off like an inch or two. when you turn your wheel to its extent it can hurt the power steering pump over time
