Doors unlock, all windows and sunroof open for no reason

I have an 04 and it was sitting in my driveway for 4 days with snow on it. On the 5th day I noticed that all of the windows were down. I thought that maybe someone may have messed with the keypad but no footprints in the snow. The sunroof was also opened but the snow was frozen and just bowed in the opening. I cleaned up the snow and closed up the sunroof and windows and locked it up. The next morning, I wake up to see the same exact thing...all windows, sunroof open and doors unlocked. I took it to a friends house to get it away from my house for a little while just in case it was some stray RF floating around that could make it happen. An hour later, with the doors locked, it happened again! It is at the dealer right now but who knows if they will find the problem. Has this happened to anyone else out there???

I've heard similar stories, but it never got sorted out...and never happened more than once or twice. Most people figure it was someone pressing the key fob against a counter or something...

GOOD LUCK!!!

Day 3 and still at the dealer. They say they can't find any problem! They are going to soke it down and let it sit (my suggestion) and see what happens. With my luck...it will happen someday when I'm parked on the street in NYC!!!

try taking the batteries out of your remotes for a couple days, it might be a malfunctioning remote. You probably know thats what happens if you hold down the unlock key.

When you hold the unlock button down does that open the sun roof? I did not opt fo the sun roof on my LS but other cars I seen with sun roofs and remote window roll down did not open the roof. I am curious if the LS does.

When the buttons on the FOB are pressed and held, all the windows and the sunroof open. The first time this happened, the keys/fob were at least 10 miles away.

The LS opens the roof, but only if it's closed; if it's in the vent position, it stays put.

Thanks for the info. It is not uncommon for the frequency to be reused. Ex. where I bank ther is a Bentley that arms its alarm when I disarm mine. Now I wish it worked the other way becasue I would not mind taking it for a test drive or check the seats for loose change. With a car like that 100 bills might be stuffed in the cracks of the seats

Well, it's been a long couple of weeks. After the first visit to the dealer, I got the car back and they said that they couldn't find anything (What else would you expect). So I am driving back from VT where it had snowed when I started the trip but stopped an hour into it. When I got off the highway 2 hr later, Still driving, I heard this clicking sound, 3 to 4 clicks in each series every minute or so, it was the door locks locking. I would unlock and then they would lock. I pulled into my driveway and they continued to click even when locking the car up with the fob. I got back into the car and then locked it up again, the clicking continued and during one of the cycles the driver's side window went down an inch. I started the car and shut everything down and closed it up. It contiued to click and about 10 minutes later then the passenger side window went down as I was standing 10 ft away. I locked it up again and the clicking continued but no window movement. The next morning I took it to the dealer. It was there 6 days!!! I just picked the car up on saturday and they ended up replacing the key pad and door lock actuators and check the door drains. They said that there was some corrosion on the contacts but that was about it. I drove the car down to NJ last night and it rained a little and all seems OK so far. WE'LL SEE!!!

Also if you put the key in the door, turn it towards the back door and hold it, this will lower the windows and open the sun roof!, back the other way and it will close them all up!, so probably it was a malfunction in the actuator, hope your problem is all solved and you never see it again!.

I know this is kind of late, but I just found the post. Check out Technical Service Bulletin #16836 NHTSA Item Number: 10002760. It might help.
