Old maxima=rwd?

I think my dad is wrong. He told me he used to have a rwd maxima. He claims it was an 80's model. He said they offered FWD and RWD. He said he had a fwd wagon and a rwd 4 door...Did they come in RWD or is he mistaken?

google maxima history, there are some good stories... the question is, how maxima is defined as a model? US? Japan? EU? Bananaland?

Actually did not ask that as most are from US. Just geneRally: any car model names vary in different parts of the world for myriad reasons...
