Here is a weird one!
Last week i posted (missing and backfiring), now i have a new one! I replaced the plug wires and plugs and it seemed to help for a day or so but now it is doing it again! All of that made my check engine light come on so i unhooked the battery to reset it and it went off, while the check engine light was off, it would backfire and miss and bog down, but the light came back on, and when it did, it quit all of that and it runs fine while the light is on!!! I cant figure it out, i need help!!!

Check the fuel pressure. My jeep would run good off and on, but eventually the fuel pump failed. I have a 92 4.0l high output. I know there was also a problem with the distributors on some of these Jeeps, your might be failing.

Get the code checked @ autozone, they don't charge. I'd bet money that it's the CPS.

Re: Here is a weird one!
I dont know if you have figured out your problem yet, but what happens when a sensor fails it shows a code and the computer automatically runs the car in open loop (it puts a fake sensor reading so the car is drivable). When you reset the computer it had to run on a bad sensor then put the code on again.
