Volvo v70/s70 hybrid?

Greetings room? How can i approach this one? As an admirer of sports cars, i dont know too much about the eclipse, or other types of mitsubishi vehicles. But as a window shopper, i find it interesting to see the speed shop options that could possibly be done, with the volvo cars. Some are designed for being wagons, and i have also read that even though they can have some engine punch, i dont read about them being on the race track. With the v70 and the s70, what i have noticed is that they can have the awd option. (very rare) What i would like to find out is, if dsm technology can be converted into volvo technology. (for unique purposes) what i have noticed was the volvo is a fwd 5 cylinder based engine & would like to see how complicated it could be to get the job done. at one speed shop i asked a guy this question, and all he answered is how much are you willing to pay? at the volvo group forum i wish i could ask this same question but have doubts about a response concerning the volume of posts over there

I appreciate the time over here

Due to the nature of the question, I don't think you will get the answer you want. Use fewer words and describe mechanically what you are asking. engine swap? drivetrain swap? What are you asking?

Thanks for the reply............... i am not a mechanic but as a Window Shopper (w/o a volvo or an owner of eclipse parts & broke) I just want to know about an eclipse engine, power supply and computer products have been swapped into the volvo s70/v70. As it is the mitsubishi eclipse (common car) and volvo s70/v70 (uncommon cars) seem to have productivity from two different worlds, even if the volvo car has a decent engine out of the box, the originality of an eclipse powered volvo would seem to make a good sleeper. who knows a car with this idea could be one in a million i am just fishing for answers

ummmmm......so you are asking if dsm technology can be swapped out with volvos? or are you wanting to know if you can take a volvo body and fill it with dsm a powertrain, computer etc. will it work as a good sleeper, yes. but why waste all that money? that is big time bucks... to convert that stuff over. And the reason why i say that is because they are two completey different cars.

Re: Volvo v70/s70 hybrid?

OK, now you get down to the mechanics. Is it possible to put an eclipse engine in a volvo? Yes, but there are no readily-available kits, or any shops that specialize in it. If you can't do it yourself, you are going to be paying someone a LOT of money to custom fabricate everything, and the ECU work would be nothing less than amazing.

Bottom line, it's definitely not worth it. There are turbo upgrades for volvos already, and unless you are rich, the word "sleeper" isn't worth $10,000.
