Gearing

3.07 - used with 4.0L engine / manual transmission
3.31 - only available on older (pre87?) 2 door XJs with "Fuel Economy" package
3.55 - used with 4.0L engine / automatic transmission
3.73 - found in some XJs with the towing package
4.10 - used with 2.5L engine usually, and older XJs with the "Off-Highway Vehicle" package.
4.56 - rare but can be found on some older (~ 89 ~) models with 2.5L engine and auto transmission

No can help with speedo gear sorry.

What gears to choose?
I say for put them fat babes on and drive her around some you may be happy with what you got. If not happy come on back. It would be helpful to know what tranny you got, what size tires you put on, how important each type of driving is to you. City, highway, offing. Maybe pulling a trailer? Last many of topic here have been gone over many times. You could do a search and if still not sure please come back. LUCK

I think most people who up rim or tire size just assume the sppedo will be off and live with it. Just figure out about how far off it will be and compensate when driving.

If it’s a huge deal, take it to a shop and have it looked at. They can at least test speedos and may be able to adjust the read out without changing gears.

Real Cheep Speedo fix.
Have someone stick close behind (not to close) you as you slowly increase speed. When they hit 25 45 65 they blow horn. You right down your speed when you hear horn. Mark new speed with finger nail polish. I like pink. Done LUCK
