no fire to plugs on 86 xt turbo 1.8 help

Recently purchased a 1986 Subaru XT Turbo Coupe not running, the timing belt is o.k., the distributor is in the correct location, power to the coil and voltage coming out, cap and rotor o.k. no spark to the plugs. Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks.

The only problem you could have (If everything yousay is really good) is plugs and/or wires. tune it up

Check pickup unit voltage in distributor. Chilton or Haynes manual will describe how. Mine stopped dead in the road and had voltage coming out of the distributor but was only 4.8V and needed 12V so no spark at the plugs. A trip to the junkyard took care of the problem but be sure to take the old distributor with you as Subaru used multiple different models of distributor in this time frame.....

Under the coil is a little square chip with two wires,
some kind of condensor I think. Could be the problem. If you order one from the dealer it only comes as a set, coil, mounting bracket and condensor.
