Wheels question?

I have a 91 turbo mr2. I just bought a set of 91 Supra Rims, for a great price. Still, I have a few concerns about the new wheels. 1. The offset on my stock wheels is +43 and the offset on the supra wheels is +40. Will this be much of a difference in how much the wheels stick out? I never realy understood the offset thing on wheels. 2. My friend who had the car before me, had some stupid 16's on the car and he had to put very low profile tires on the front because the shock was right over the tire, on sharp turns it would rub. I need to figure out what to do so this doesn't happen to me. Do I need to buy after market shocks, or what? Please Help!

Re: Wheels question?

+/- 5cm is not a big deal at all

the shocks should not rub at all... ever. if the wheel can spin w/ the stock suspension, the tire is not rubbing. the shocks pivot with the wheels, so if there was rubbing it was most likely on the inner fender (the plastic stuff)

Yes but,

with stock shocks in front if I wanted to use not such a low profile tire will i have to get adjustable shocks so that the wheel will actually rit. I mean say I was putting 17's or 18's on, doesn't that factor in? Thanks for the reply.
