**98 Z24 Headlight Problem**

I have a 1998 Cavalier Z24.

A couple of days a go I noticed my driver side headlight was out. I went to the store to purchase a new one, installed it and it still didn't work. Shortly after I realized that the bulb I thought was burned out really wasn't. WTF. Tested all bulbs and all work fine. So my dad and I decided to dig a little further. Here's what is happening;

Headlights OFF: Daylights work fine, Highbeams work fine, Foglights work fine ON and OFF.

Parking Lights ON (1st notch): Daylights work fine, Highbeams work fine, Foglights work fine ON, however driver lowbeam lights up very very very dim.

Headlights ON (2nd notch): Highbeams fine, Passenger lowbeam fine, Driver lowbeam does not work, Passenger foglight ON fine, Driver foglight ON does not work, Foglights OFF both are dim.

What a freakin' mess!!!

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Lu.

Head lights

Check the DRL relay. Mine went and caused the DRL light to flash. Also a sound from the fuse box could be heard. The relay was clicking on and off.

Hi veeko, did you find a solution to your headlight problem? I am having the exact same problem.

Fog lights shouldn't be "on" when you don't have any lamps on. But your problem sounds like it could be as simple as a corroded ground.

the wires were broken/corroded inside on of those stupid little white clips you see here and there. don't over look those clips. took forever to find but finally found it.
