Re: brakes whine while slowing down from reverse

Check your brake pads, that's an early sign of wear.

If your doing hard driving now is time to replace the front rotors and pads with performance parts.

Re: brakes whine while slowing down from reverse

looking on the eBay, and ive seen some good looking items as far as brake pads, im jsut gonna upgrade the rotors and pads right now, now there are so many differant types of brake pads, which ones are for me?
the kevlar ones, the ceramic/metallic ones. so many options makes me realize how little i know about "brake pad material composition vs. stopping distance"

Re: Re: brakes whine while slowing down from reverse

Don't be cheap with your brakes, get the right quality parts.

Don't buy race only pads for street use, you'll never get them hot enough to function.

Research correct information at www.tirerack.com this will help you in your selection. Ebay is not always right.

Re: brakes whine while slowing down from reverse

went to autozone and they gave me a list of their pads,
Duralast-Gold
Duralast
Valucraft - semi metallic
Morse-Ceramic
PFC-Carbon metal
PFC Z rated
Gransport

these products are from around $15 - $50
which do you think i should get? i want quiet brakes, with little brake dust, while getting good performance, better than oem.

Re: Re: brakes whine while slowing down from reverse

I wouldn't buy any of them, especially from auto zone.

www.tirerack.com

I run EBC green stuff pads w/ brembo blank rotors.

Don't forget to cut or replace the rotor's. Just replacing the pads will greatly reduce the life and possible pulsation or vibrations. Make sure to lube the pads, retainers, slides, etc.
