OK here's the question. I have a 97 S-10 Blazer. I spun a bearing on my 4.3 . I paid some junk yard dog to pull the motor and he did a real good butcher job. I want to replace the motor with an LT1. I am assuming I'll need the wiring and computer. NOW here's the biggy. NY has passed the new vehicle inspection law where any vehicle 97 and newer is plugged into a diagnostics computer. Anyone know the details or can help me on this. Will there be a problem with passing this inspection?
Thanks Tom |

Re: Motor Swap
You should check into the local laws and if they will allow you to swap engines.
The 350 swap is a big deal requiring you to practically replace all the engine wiring, the computer, the motor and tranny mounts, the fuel pump and sending unit along with having to bang the firewall back.
