Skyline question

Hey guys. I have found a website for Skylines and the price was low and the shipping into america cost were low. For the car and shipping it would be about 5k. But, could u even drive it in America? I mean there will have to be changes to it to fit American Road laws wont there be? Also does a regular US license allow you to drive rhd cars or outof the country vehicles? I'm really interested in getting a skyline but i dont know the requirements and what not. If u guys could answer my previous questions and throw in anything else it would be appreciated thanks.

No. Motorex, the only company who had the real approval to legalize Skylines, has gone under. For the time being, no one else can convert Skylines to US standards.

Yep. A lot of sites, like the one you probably saw, conveniently leave the legalization part out.

If you really want a Skyline, try waiting for a while. RB Motoring, another Skyline dealer, got their legal cars through Motorex. However, with the demise of Motorex, many are looking to RB Motoring to carry the torch. Stay tuned.

Re: Skyline question

ahhh, that sucks bro but they will eventually get a company that will do it right? yeah thats pretty cool. Well I really can't wait for that too happen. So all i really have to do is to check the forums and one of you will have posted the news? So i'll just wait and see. Also, what kinds of things have to be done to make them US legal standards. Im guessing making it LHD and i heard sumthing about the firewalls or something along those lines. But anyway thanks for the info and I WILL stay tuned

Re: Skyline question

If it was converted it still would be RHD atleast all the motorex ones where. I think a few ppl have converted to LHD but not many. The firewall issue probably somthing bout it not meeting us standards. U can wait for motorex or wait till 2014 and grab a R32.

Re: Skyline question

he'll probably have to wait till 2014 since hes only 16now and i dont know how he can already afford to import and legalize a skyline..
