battery woes

when i started my 99 blazer this a.m. the battery light stayed on and the battery appeared to be not charging. I took it down the road and the battery gauge kept going down and eventually the blazer quit running, leaving me stranded. Went home, got another battery and while driving home it was doing the same thing. has anyone had this problem? My guess is the alternator? Thanks for your help.

Re: battery woes

100% alternator

Make sure you recharge the new battery now seeing you just drained it.

The alternator is not a battery charger.

Don't just pop in the new alternator and have it instantly charging a dead battery, it will ruin it.
