Angry wont start, but will start

I bought this vehicle not to long ago. Only problem it had was broken sway bar links and power antenna would not work (or so i Thought). well it had to sit for about two weeks after i bought it. When i got in the car it started right up. next day i put stuff in the car ( i was moving) let it sit overnight tried to start it, wouldnt start. put jumper cables on, car tried starting itself ( has a remote starter). so i got in the car searched for the toggle switch and turned the remote starter off and started the vehicle, and drove to my new house. i figured it needed a battery, i bought one and installed it.drove it all day with no problems, next morning wouldnt start. i thought it might have a bad altenator or a drain in the system. i took it to where i work sears and had the system checked and watch them peform the test. they did everything right no drain, alt was good, and battery was good(altenator must have charged it on the trip up there) does any body have any idea's im stumped and need help

also when i turned the remote starter off it never came back on. i flicked the toggle switch back on but it doesn't work. i dont know anything about remote starters but from what i heard some need to be reset . its a viper remote start i dont know if that helps
antenna works sometimes and doesnt others

what kind year of car are we talking about now?

anywho so does your power antenna work or doesn't it? if it doesn't go up or down by itself anymore whats probably happening is that its stuck and the motor is trying to lower it when you turn off the car and the motor wont stop til the antenna is all the way down creating a drain on the battery

what you can do is get a ohmmeter and disconnect your positive battery terminal and measure the draw from the battery while everything is off car not running door not open etc. the draw should be very little if any but if it does show draw starting pulling fuses one by one until the draw from the battery goes down to nothing and you found what circuit was causing the draw on the battery

Re: wont start, but will start

usually if it is the OEM motor they have a timeout period if there is no movement by the antenna. That is assuming it is not an aftermarket replacement. Dont rule that idea all the way out because there could be something internally wrong with the antenna motor.

dre- do you have a digital multimeter or a harbor freight nearby (they are ~$5 there)
