Exclamation Rattle in 2.4L Engine

I have still not found what is making the rattling noise in my engine. I am thinking that it may be the oil pump. Has anyone else had a rattling/ clacking noise coming from the engine??

Re: Rattle in 2.4L Engine

you may need a oil change. or you could have a vacuum leak. oil could be thinning out...

Re: rattle

my 99 Stratus had an exhaust leak. manifold had a big crack. Replaced manifold and it doesn't make the noise anymore. Thought it was normal until it wouldn't pass smog because of leak. Fixed it and suddenly it went away. I guess this is what it was

Re: Rattle in 2.4L Engine

Ucarson has a good point. My `96 Stratus had a cracked exhaust manifold twice. The dealer said it was a flaky design with them. It made a noise that I couldn’t identify
