Exclamation 01 Cav will not start

01 Cav. cut off while pulling into my driveway. Have messed with things like battery (which is fine) changed fuel filter, took one side of filter off and turned car On a fuel pumped out, so fuel pump is working, when i spray starting fluid into the throttle body the car runs as long as the fluid is being sprayed. If I hit the gas it boggs out. So I have spark, and it is pumping fuel, the filter has been changed battery tested, seems no fuel is making it to the engine, or crankshaft sensor is bad? or maybe a throttle position sensor? can anyone help? Is there any way to check the trouble code without trouble code tool or scan tool? thanks for any help

dirty fuel injectors. get some fuel line cleaner and run the highest octane you can get!

Did you have a bit of a bump when you drove up onto your driveway, like a smal kerb or anything? I'm thinking possibly safety fuel shut-off could have been triggered!

Our driveway is about 0.2 mil long and we have a few pots holes which make it bumpy, I pushed the car with my van to get it up the driveway.

if it was the inertia shut off switch then it wouldnt be pumping fuel outta the line... so its probably gummed up injectors maybe?

Re: 01 Cav will not start

I replace the valve cover gasket there was oil all over the injectors, I sprayed engine cleaner around them and whiped off what I could, Still the car will fire but boggs out. The fuel filter has been changed, I left one side of the fuel filter off and turn the ACC on and some gas came out, it didnt pour out , but more like a trickle. I spray starting fluid and it runs for a second and then boggs out again. a few people have ask if i hit a bump and so forth, and maybe it set off the fuel safety switch. I dont even know where the reset would be, I have looked for a buttom to press in the trunk and under the dash but cant find anything. Could it be the fuel pump, I hate the electrical cars. Sorry to be a pain just drying to troubleshoot on here before I last resort to paying alot of money to have towed to a shop.

Thanks,
Dean

Re: 01 Cav will not start

Vacum Test it. Sounds like it could be the Map sensor.

I would like to thank everyone that help me with this issue. I put in some octane boost, and engine treatment, then i turned the car on and off many many times, and finally the car started. Thanks,

Dean

Along the lines of my origianl prognosis! Glad you got it running! It's hard to properly diagnose something without seing the car! But like I had glad it going agin!

Re: 01 Cav will not start

if the car doesnt start again or turns off while it's running it might be the ignition control module. Hopefully all it needed was what you did but just in case what i said happens get that checked.

Re: 01 Cav will not start

I was driving down the Hwy and the car shut off again. I coasted to the side and started the car again, as I started to accelerate the car was being sluggish as it didnt want to go, and then it did and then it didnt want to go and finally it straightened out and ran fine, as i drove 35 miles to another town, as i drove back the car shut off again, and once again, it took a few minutes to get it started and drove home just fine.
