plastic on plastic
OK, well someone broke my girlfriends side mirror yesterday. The mirror is still intact, glass, housing, everything is ok, it is just hanging by the wire. So at first glance I just thought it was adhesive that came off, but upon further inspection, the mirror was held on by 3 screws that were screwed into cheap plastic grid-like structures on the inside of the mirror.
So these plastic pieces snapped near the screws, so basically, I need to repair this..cheaply. So what is the best thing to use to adhere plastic to plastic, that wont fail at 75mph winds. I'm leaning towards using some epoxy putty, and just putting it on a bunch of places, so when it hardens, it will be good enough to hold the mirror horizontally. Any ideas/suggestions?

i think epoxy wuld do a good job, even better wuld be to make a new plate tp screw them in.
have you checed if you can just find one at a junkyard for free or very little money?

That idea crossed my mind, but I havn't gotten to go to the local junkyard yet, and she wants it fixed ASAP.
Any other thoughts?

I would go with the epoxy or something like E6000. However, you need to let 24 hours go by for a maximum strength binding...I don't know how feasible that is for your gf.

the handyman's secret weapon: Duct Tape.
I can't think of anything that would hold up for any length of time...but duct tape if you can somehow wrap it around something (no clue what it looks like).

Nah, I am going for the subtle stock looking fix...while the merits of duct tape are well-known to me, she already made it clear she "wont tolerate any ghetto-looking fixes, specifically hanging on by duct tape", so that option is out.
