Question Engine modifications

1965 Ford Galaxie with a 240cc straight 6. I want to keep the original motor, only has 57000 mls, but I do want to modify to make it more resonsive. Intrested in info on changing to electronic ignition, carb upgrades and internal mods to increase hp and response. Not looking for a 400hp monster, just some minor mods. Thanks for any info!

Re: Engine modifications

i'd bore it, put a bigger carb on it, speed up the compression ratio a little, things like that, port polish etc.... Really I'd reccomend changing the engine to a big block, a Galaxie is just way to big for that engine...

Re: Engine modifications

Drop at least a 302 in it if you don't go big block.
