anyone heard of this before?!
I own a 1996 S10 pick up, 4 cylinder automatic transmission, no car alarm. Has anyone ever heard of a horn activating itself due to weather conditions or otherwise? Supposedly (supposedly because I was not around at the time) the horn on my truck activated itself to the point where the police were called to have the supposed car alarm shut off. Given that there is no alarm & no one was in the truck, has anyone heard of a horn activating itself?! Know this sounds stupid, but it's not a joke. Would really appreciate any feedback I can get on this.
Thanks |

I had an old Monte Carlo that did me that way years ago. It was hot outside and the windows were up. Got too hot and the switch inside the steering wheel activated.

Actually that continued to happen on my 2001 Sahara (Wrangler)... this past summer... It would just start blaring in the middle of the night for no reason... Only solution for it at the time was to unplug the horn itself... Then finally it started throwing a code for the emissions sensor on the manifold (no, not the 02 sensor).... Turns out both were related. Don't ask me why, but apparently the clock spring affects both. Pretty common in the wrangler..

readjust bendable horn circuit contact tabs under snap-in horn activator on steering wheel.
