Question Gas Tank

I have an 85 S10 2wd Shortbed. I want to put a bigger gas tank in it, because mine only holds about 12 gallons. the truck has a V8 in it and I have to stop for gas about every 3 days. Did they make a bigger tank for the short bed trucks, or am I just going to have to live with it?

What about a gas tank from another S10? Will it fit?

Re: Gas Tank

yeah, it will fit fine... Just make sure you flush it thouroughly...(lots of brake clean) to get as much debri out of it as you can... Pull the sending unit and check inside with a flash light to look for rusting...Any rust, move on to the next tank.

Re: Gas Tank

No prob, Just on a side note you're going to need a new sending unit. You're existing one won't read it right...

Re: Gas Tank

I think i found a good candidate in the j-yard for both parts, but the weather in southwestern PA is
about to go cold again so it will have to wait.

Tell me about it (I'm in North Hills)... Go to Wagners autowrecking in Harmony (just next to Zelinople) Tell him Rick sent you.... He'll give you a good deal on both parts...

BTW, do you know about the March 19th meet at bufflaoes?

Cool... If you don't find one with a good sending unit Check Wagner's or New Castle autowrecking...(at new castle ask for Adam)

Yeah, Buffaloes on the 19th, you can check the thread here... http://s-seriesforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=66312
