i know that a small number of you have probably done any of these VERY illegal drugs, but the subject just popped into my mind because i heard that one of my more distant friends got popped in public frying balls on 'shrooms...at the casino no less, a very brilliant place to do that, around all those people... anyways, i was wondering what kind of experiences you all have had on LSD or whatever else. whenever i ask people, they say similar stuff, flying purple elephants and stuff like that. well all that stuff is probably normal, but i know that your trip is not my trip, and a lot of what we experience comes from our ideas of what to expect out of the drug(since it's mind-altering, not just an upper or downer). i've read that the only people that have had the true experience of these drugs are ones who don't have any idea what to expect out of the drug. the main modern example would be old what's-his-name, the creator of LSD, who recorded his reaction to the drug, with no idea going in what would happen. i do also realize that these drugs are chock full of good ol' body-frying chemicals, and that no one should ever really take them without knowing the legal, physical, and mental affects and knowing the safety rules that should go along with it(don't go out in public, DO NOT DRIVE, don't do them alone, don't do them in a group without any sober people to care for you). mostly young people(like me) do these drugs to have a good time...but they are really more dangerous than other narcotics(10 acid trips=legally insane anyone?)...but at the same time less life-affecting because they are far less addicting, and far harder to procure than normal narcotics. what i'm saying is that i don't recommend that anyone try these drugs...and if you don't know what they are....you probably don't need to know.

my own experiences(though relatively minor) have not really been the flying elephant kind('cept acid). it's been years since i've done anything of the kind, but 'shrooms(an eighth) seemed to feel like a short-term mind-opening experience. i felt connected to a higher power, in a kind of zen state contemplating the universe(where i think this thread fits in with the philosiphizing forum). all this was probably just my frontal lobe opening. one of my stonier friends believes this is reason for the whole "God" theory...ancients eating nearly lethal mushrooms which gave them insight into their own minds...and a slightly higher intelligence, as far as philosophy goes. this tricked them into thinking that they were connecting with God while they were, in fact, exploring the formerly unsused portions of their own minds, a "higher power". this is actually ironic, because this would mean that a christianity based legal system has come to a point so far from its origin that it actually outlaws the very drug which was perhaps partly responsible for the visions and prophesies that started the whole thing in the first place.

LSD is far less philosophical, the sensory overload is too much to be able to think very clearly. its just...insane. don't look in the mirror, that's all i have to say.

I have used things we're not supposed to mention here, stopped altogether about 2 years ago after a really bad trip. Some of those things do open and enhance connections between neurons, hence the intellectual stimulation that a lot of people talk about. Had some of the best times of my life, but once you have a bad trip, and have feelings so intense you want to die, it changes the way you look at things.

I used to be a philosophy major, and my friends from school and I would go hang out down by the river and watch the sunset, eating shrooms and smokin grass, talking about god and life and music...man those were good times. Til the cops showed up once. Luckily didn't get caught with anything, but man, the intensity of the feelings of terror you get is undescribable. Cops + shrooms = bad

i moved to atl when i was in 10th grade. we met this kid that sold hits 5 bucks a piece, and would deliver. now at this point me and my friend greg smoked pot but couldnt ever find it cause we didnt know anyone(just moved there). so we got like 5 hits and took 1 each. an hour later we were complaining that they were fake, but my tongue was numb. we took another 1 each and started to smoke the last bowl of pot we had. by the time the bowl was done, my whole body was numb and i started hallucinating. i got freaked out and left all by myself for a few mins, then returned and tripped for 10 hrs with my friends. no flying elephants, just triple vision and everything swayed!if u tripped hard before, u understand the sway. we had some of the best times in our life doing it once a week for two mths. i do remember walking down the street and seeing three kids playin in a front yard. i looked for like 5 seconds. then i looked away for a few and looked back. 3 small trees where in the same exact place i saw the kids(bugged out). there is too much things for me to type so ill get to the point. i was going back to ct to see my mother that i havent seen in 8 mths. we decided to take 2 1/3 hits the day before i left. these things were so strong i was in another planet for 10 hrs! we tripped our asses off then went home at like 1am. i was still tripping hard and started bugging out on some crack addict pictures(wierd i know, but it was there.)anyway, one of the pictures was freaking me out and i kept looking at it. next thing i see is the piucture become 3d and kind of screamed at me. i freakedthe fuck out hardcore and sent myself into a bad trip! not 15 minutes later my trip times by 30 and i was hearing voices and seeing shit u could only imagine. i was puking(wanted to go to hospital, but living with friends parents so u could only imagine!)anyway, gregs trip was ending and he didnt understand that mine was getting stronger!? we stayed up all night till i had to get on my plane at 7am!!!!!we had breakfast with his parents and i was like a retard. somehow got on the plane and was headed home to ct. i was hallucinating so hard that i looked at the wing and it just ripped off right in front of my face. funny thing was i didnt care cause i was so fucked up i wish i did crash! anyway.... get to ct and see my mom. said about 2 words the whole ride home. got to my house and left immediately. went to my friend brians house and explained what was going on. he didnt really believe me, but i was coming down and just wanted to smoke(bigggggg mistake!)trip came up again! anyway, i tripped for the whole weekend, and it sucked soooooo bad. i would nevertouch that shit again and i did research on it and it said a bad trip could last up to three days. i was surprised cause no one believed me. 2 years later (moved back 2 ct) none of my friends believed how strong this shit actually was. i ended up getting two sheets from atl,(plane), and sold it all to my hometown. everyone that took it was either really fucked up, or completely retarded. i proved my point and they now believed that i wasnt bullshitting. sorry for long post, but i could of typed 4xs this!
i also felt some connection with god when i was tripping, and felt evil when i was bad tripping. nbut im ok now and will never look back.

the last time i ate some acid(paper hits) was on superbowl sunday last year and I got wrecked. i never get the purple flying elephant bullshit people always talk about, personally i think they're just bull shittin', but the triple vision, where everything has like a halo around it, and the wavey sensation, i felt. all was good for the duration of the trip, it was good acid, the superbowl was never so interesting before, but when it was time to go home i couldn't sleep and i had an 8:00am math class the next morning. so i finally went to "sleep"(more like i just zoned out for a while) and woke up at 7 to get ready for school. i woke up still feeling funny, not really tripping just kinda felt groggy and i was nervous as shit cuz it was only the 2nd week of classes and i was still kinda feelin the acid. i made the same mistake ghost did, i thought smoking a little bud would help mellow me out, so i burned a little doobie on my way to school. after that i went back into full out tripping again, all through my math class, it was horrible. i only tripped through math class but i sat through three more hour and fifteen minute classes feelin like absolute hell. it wasn't really a bad trip so much as me being stpuid and going to school the day after, when i shoulda stayed in bed. however I never did it again since.

I've never had a bad trip on acid but i had a real bad trip on shrooms where i had a panic attack and got really tense and i haven't done them shits again since, probably never will. the shrooms themselves didn't cause the bad trip, it was that my brain wouldn't allow me to stop analyzing everything, eventually it reached a point where it was like my brain was WindowsME and the shit just froze up blue screen style.

i still dabble here and there, little acid maybe, little ecstasy, i've even dabbled in other areas, but my hard core "get fucked up on something every weekend" part of my life is over. i'm just a smoker now and an occasional drinker.

ya, i tried srhooms a few yrs later and didnt have a bad trip, but i did have a panic attack, went blank when i was talking to my mom on the phone and gave it to someone else! not cool. ill pass next time. come to think about it my mom is really cool. i talk to her bout everything and we even smoke together. i think its time i tell her bout what happened on those days where she probably thought i was crazy. shed probably laugh about it now and admit she was always wondering bout those incidents!

Never done any hallucinagens, have never wanted to really. Once time at a church retreat we gave this kid little pieces of notebook paper and told him they were laced with acid. He put one in his mouth and like 15 minutes later he started saying he was tripping and seeing shit.

We laughed our asses off for days about that one.

i haven't tried LSD, but i smoked a large quantity of salvia back in september. I felt my heart explode, my body fill up with blood, had convulsions....could hear my brother crying over my dead body.. Then i floated around the room for a bit.

I just do research about it for the hell of it, mostly because i see people denounce drugs without really knowing anything about them. And if i was writing a book about drug use, it would be like trainspotting, not some informational piece. oh, and i would have to actually live as some sort of addict, which i won't do.

Yeah, i had a bad trip on 'shrooms, mostly because we watched Pink Floyd- The Wall(the first time i ever watched it), but after the movie ended my thoughts went crazy.(try contemplating time for 4 hours) i would say that that is what a hardcore paranoid schyzophrenic feels like, but i think the twitchy irrationallity of cracked out people is probably closer.
I actually enjoyed my bad trip. Yeah, i'm a little weird but the bad trip seemed to shake me in a way that was curious at the time because towards that end, i controlled my thoughts. i convinced myself that i had absolutely nothing to worry about, and it made the bad trip seem like the process that i had to go through to get to a better end.
My acid trip almost went bad, because my friends house that i did it at had all kinds of mirrors. anyone else looked in a mirror on acid? even when i wasn't staring at the mirror, and i was walking around looking at stuff, whenever i could see myself a little bit in the mirror, i would have to look, and a couple times i saw myself holding a big knife, with that insane acid smile. i wasn't holding a knife, and couldn't even comprehend the things i might do if i touched a knife at the point. jets always take off and land over my friends house(but not that bad) and my highest peak was when the dawn passenger liner took off and flew over the house.

I've done mushrooms a bunch of times but not acid.... cause mushrooms are natural.

When you take alotta shrooms you feel like you're watching what you're doing, like you're not really controlling yourself but watching. Then your mind starts to expand, you start thinking about crazy shit like the universe and then you SNAP back into reality for a second. Then you go back and start thinking about crazy shit lol

I need to clear just a couple things up. Ask any psychology person and they will tell you the whole "you only use 5% of your brain" is crap. You use it all. And also the frontal lobes you are talking about, I hope you have been using them. They are what gives you the ability to plan for the future. If you dont use them then you probably would have never been able to think to post this.

You were right about one thing, 10 lsd trips = insanity. Yeah, ive tripped off of acid a lot more than 10 times and yeah, ive lost my freaking mind. I also know some people are like yeah i saw purple elephants...the only people I know that have seen purple elephants flying around are dumbasses. No offense ment towards anyone in here its just from what I have witnessed. Personally the thing I love about lsd is how you can actually see sounds, taste colors, hear movement, its great. If someone really wants to trip I would have to reccomend they do shrooms though. Its a much more controlled trip and it doesnt make you want to do as much stupid shit as acid does. It is more of a mental thing than acid is. On shrooms you question everything and seek answers, on acid your just pretty happy to be floating down the street. I have never had a bad trip, I dont believe in them, so I support drugs, do drugs, if you get caught just say hey, what political leader HASNT been in trouble for drugs!

Oh yeah, if your going to do acid dont get sheets, get the liquid, the good stuff, dont be cheap on something like this.
