Hello,
I was hoping someone here can give me an approximate value for a 2001 1.8 T Bora that was shipped over from Germany. It has about 48,000 miles on it. It comes fully loaded, and with 17" rims. It's also this special blue color. I think they call it the euro blue or something, I'm not sure. Anyway, I want to buy it but don't know how much I should be paying for it. I looked at some European auto-estimator sites, but they were no help; everything was in Euros and Pounds. I did a currency exchange, but the price came out to be about $13000 to $16000. Does that sound right? I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't pay anything over $10000, but I can't put my finger on it. Please help! Thanks! P.S. Oh yeah, this is a private party sale. |

Re: Want 2001 Bora/Jetta, but don't know value
Yes, as near as I can tell $13,000 - $16,000 sounds right for that car. VW's hold value for a very long time, and considering that one is a germany shipped vehicle it's worth a bit more to someone who would want it. If I remember right, the german ECM doesn't have the 140mph governor in it right off the showroom floor. A 2000 Jetta VR6, with over 100,000 miles on it (if the car is kept well) is worth almost $10,000. Just keep that in mind.

I completely agree with CaseyVR6...I shopped around for a solid month...just bought an 01 GLS with VR6. low mileage for $13k. I found to be a bargain considering the great shape it's in.
