buying car in another state--need advice PLEASE! : )
buying Georgia car from private seller, and driving back to Michigan.
using a plate from another vehicle is illegal-- i won't do that. Georgia doesn't issue temporary tags, unless you buy from dealer. must have SOME license-ish thing so i don't get pulled over by police. please advise. |

If the police pull you over, tell them the situation, and just try to get to the DMV asap.
You could try to get a set of plates, and in Michigan you could change them before you left. |

They have to issue plates. Get normal plates for the car, if they hassle you about the title or ownership papers, tell them the situation and they'll likely give them to you.

The sellers recept will pose as a moving permit until you get back to your state as long as it is signed and dated by the seller and the pink slip is signed so if you do get pulled over the cop can confirm the sale and make sure your insurance covers whatever you drive and you will be ok.
