Hi
I have a '92 GrandAM SE with a V6 3.3l since a few day my oil pressure gauge stays between the 3/4 and MAX sometimes it goes to the MAX (825) What the high oil pressure mean ? Thanks |

Check the oil pressure sensor switch first. I honestly don't know where it is located on your engine, but most likely it right around your oil filter.
Testing procedure~~~~~~~~~ unplug the sensor electrical plug. connect one lead of an ohmmeter to the switch terminal[the elect. plug] and the other lead to the sensor body itself. with engine off, resistance should be 1 ohm. Start engine, sensor unplugged, ohmmeter probes still in place, resistance should rise as engine speed increases. If engine off read or engine run read don't show the above readings on the ohmmeter, replace the sensor. |
