1999 ford taurus 0.400 amp battery drain. help!!!!!

hello all i could use a skilled ford tech right about now. preferably, a tech with a better wiring diagram the the haynes manual. i have a 0.400 amp current draw on the battery. the drain is comming from fuse 23 of the i/p fuse block under the drivers dash. according to the owners manual, this fuse is labeled GEM, RAP, & PATS. i think the problem is the GEM control module which allows the interior excessories to stay powered up for 45 seconds after the ignition is turned off. i have no wiring diagram to show me what the fuse 23 is controlling. the haynes manual doesnt have this fuse 23 listed in the power window wiring diagram. if there is a ford tech out there that can email me a better wiring diagram and tell me where this GEM (generic electronic module) contol unit is located in the vehicle, i would be more than thankfull.
thanks
joe

The GEM on a Taurus stays on for 45 minutes or a little longer. It should drop from .400a to around .180a then sit there for a long time until it finally drops below .055a. Give it time to work then ask again.

according to the manual it is only supposed to be on for 45 seconds not minutes. i was working on the car for about an hour to see if it would drop and it didnt. i pulled fuse 23 and it went down to 0.054amp drain, which is what i am looking for. where is the GEM located?
thanks

see if this helps you. There is a lot more diagrams, but this one has fuse 23 on it. You may want to unplug the RAPS and PATS module separately to see if it drops.

I believe the PATS ans RAP module feed through the GEM also. Like I stated, there are many pages of diagrams for this system. There is a great possibility the GEM does not read the PATS module and will not recognize the key. Let me look at diagram. Both the other modules are tied into the GEM. So with a different GEM module, you amy need to re program it to the PATS and RAP modules.

You nalready have the PATS diagram. Good luck.
