So Afraid

Okay guys things here in town have started to get sketchy and I know some guys are after me, well not me per se. But they'll go after what they can. Meaning my cav. What are some preventative measures I can take to catch them in the act if it goes that far? I heard of video surveilance in a car but how's that work? C'mon you security buffs is there anything I can do to protect my car? She's already been keyed once. I don't wanna know what these jerks will do to her if I'm not there.

I have no garage which really sucks and I work all day so I can't always watch my car.

Man this sucks, and even if they do things to my car and I have no visual proof it's 5 people against me. my word against theirs. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: So Afraid

Can you see your car from your window? If so, I suggest getting a camcorder with a good zoom. Make sure your car is under some light, and wait for them to do something... or you could be mean like me, and wait in the bushes with camo and a "weapon" to scare the living daylights outta em.

Re: So Afraid

oh trust me weapons aren't a problem but of course I can't watch my car all the time. Anyone know how I can rig a camera into the car sos it can monitor itself?

Re: So Afraid

First and foremost, I'd strongly suggest you consider doing the following. Notify the police, and explain your predicament. Whatever you do, DO NOT place yourself in a position where you can surprise these asses. You just might become the victim along with your car.

Now if you can find a cam with a decent zoom lens, (and pref one with decent night vision capabilities) try and set it up to at least capture pics of the cars area, and failing that see if you can locate it somewhere where you can connect it to your puter and set it to cover any "approaches" to your vehicle. There is software that will auto-record any motion that happens within the cams frame of view, and it will store frames on your hard drive as motion is being captured.
Rem to watch your ride as often and as closely as possible. Before you enter it do a comple and thorough walkabout, and if something seems amiss, don't even touch the machine. Call the police and tell them about it. That way you won't corrupt any evidence that might be available. Record times and dates, and anything you feel might be pertinent, on paper.
One more suggestion would be to go and buy a cheap alarm system for the car. Something that will fasle easily, and keep it only long enough so that it can be returned for a full refund under the customer satisfaction gaurantee. Seedy, yeah; but it does work...heh heh.
Last of all, make friends with some law enforcement rookies. They just crave a good take-down, and will want the brownie points. Of course they'll earn them honestly too.
Then there's Neighbour Watch and the like. More useful than most care to know.
GL

Re: So Afraid

actually I just finished setting up my PC's cam to take still shots once every 5 minutes. the cav already has an alarm system so it's no major thing. It's gonna be tested here soon. Gonna head over to the neighbors and ask em to help me keep a lookout. man... I hate this.

Long story short. The "leader of the group" tried to start shit with me. tried to fight me and I floored him. it was that simple

now he's trying to get the last laugh on me when it was his own damn fault he tried to fight me in the first place. Nothing personal against the guy but when you threaten my shit and when I get hell just going to the damn grocery store from this group of dipshits it tends to push my buttons.

Damn how people are so quick to jump the gun. but here's the funny thing

I did catch someone spying on our bronco. looking through the window. I ran out there and he just 180'd and took off. so I guess I'm more paranoid than usual. So far may car's been safe but it's still pretty soon to tell and the weekend isn't over yet.

Re: So Afraid

Hoo boy!!!!!!!! Ya know, I really agree with what tookie is telling ya, buddy!!!!!!!!!!

If U have a digital camera, do this~~~~~~~~~`

Take pic.'s of your ride before you even get inside it. Time and date stamp the pic.'s. Take more pic.'s as soon as you park and leave the ride for the day, t and d stamping. Again, just before you head for home, and then again after ya park it for the nite. If nada happens, erase all but very last pic., and do again next day, etc.

Gives you visual proof and time day of when/when not something occurred.
