i always assumed Anime was some kind of kiddie waste of time....
i watched Princess Mononoke this morning and was in awe.. great movie.. i've already ordered Spirited Away on dvd, and am trying to get a copy of Nausicaa. I've heard that Spirited Away is even better than Mononoke, any opinions? any suggestions for similar movies worth watching? my only problem with Princess Mononoke was the sudden ending... i expected for more to happen with the deer god.. the humans and animals hardly deserved the automatic paradise, i thought Ashitaka and Mononoke would have had to sacrifice their lives to the God. Even Jiko, the guy trying to get away with the head, survived.. |

Go rent AKRIA...RIGHT NOW! once you get past the ultra violence bit it's quite remarkable, considering it's age. Also Metropolis ( a great story with spectacular visuals) And Ghost in the shell( Great visuals with a good story). Anime for the kiddies.....Only on the WB!
And BTW Spirited Away is MUCH BETTER. Nausicca is a little on the lengthy side. If you've got kids the above mentioned movies (other than Metropolis) should be watched after bed time!
