knocking sound on a 95 gsx

My car sometimes, hardly ever has a knocking sound that you can here but it goes away right away. When it does happen its usually on 1,2,3 gear. When Im usually taking off not for a race just normal shifting without pressing the gas to much. There is sum guy that has a gst 96 and he says his car does the same thing not all the time but he says its normal. Anybody got and idea if its normal or what it is???

Re: knocking sound on a 95 gsx

Is it a knocking? Or does it sound more like ticking. If it does it at idle, which if it's a real problem it most likely will, can you give a rough idea of where the sound may be coming from?

Yeah it is more like a ticking soud that sometimes I hear. I have open the hood to hear the sound but you cant hear nothing unless your driving, sound to me like its close to the intake manifold or somewhere around there.

That sounds like the standard lifter tick. I don't think I have heard an eclipse that hasn't had that problem. I wouldn't worry about it (and don't worry about it on my spyder)
