Slipping problem after clutch replacement

Hi.

I had a new clutch put in my 95.5 Passport about 6 weeks ago. Since then, I have been back to the shop twice as the clutch pedal engagement slowly moves further out on the pedal. It only requires pushing it in about 1/2 inch before clutch engages. Eventually, the clutch begins slipping again just like before they replaced it. Each time I have taken it in, they bleed the clutch again and it is fine for a week or so, before the process starts over again. I just picked it up yesterday, and I can already feel the ratio moving back again.

Could this be a bad master/slave cylinder? Are they just bleeding it improperly?

This is my first hydraulic, so any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Gotta be a bad hydraulic cylinder. I'd switch shops if no one there can figure that out.

Strange. For the last few days (it was bled again last week) I have been watching the hydraulic fluid level - no change. Now, after driving around town awhile, clutch slips again.

Could there be a seal bad somewhere? I thought I might be losing hydraulic fluid. I'd like to try to bleed it myself now and see if I can get the ratio lower on the pedal. Is there a valve on the cylinder?

Thanks

Bleeding the system over and over will not solve your problem. Something is obviously wrong. Either the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder are bad.
