Monroe Shocks?
I am getting some brake work done at a Monroe shop and I also
want to replace my shocks. I would like to have those put on while it's there but of course they only sell Monroe Shocks. Are the Monroe Gas Magnums any good? I would like a much firmer ride. My truck going down the highway is like galluping a horse. I don't even mind sacrificing some comfort for a firmer ride. Thanks |

Re: Monroe Shocks?
My z71 had Monroe shocks on it when I bought it used. They didn't last very long and I finally replaced them with some Rancho Shocks. I have heard that Monroe wasn't a bad shock, I've just had better luck with Rancho. My opinion, good luck.

Re: Monroe Shocks?
Thanks for the input. By the way, it's a 97 Non-Z71

I decided to do the job myself so I got some Rancho RSX and I'm
very happy with the ride now. It seems much more stable and now only one bounce per bump. The only issue I had was having to make a heat shield because the rubber boot is very close (1/2") to the custom exhaust. I hope it does the job. |
