start up

i have a 91 eclipse 1.8non turbo i get spark from the spark plugs,im getting gas to the engine ,everythings hooked up,but it rotates but doesnt fire up(start) any suggestions? Thanks

I don't know what to tell ya. The only thing i could think of off the top of my head would be that your gas is bad. Have you tryed shooting starting fluid in the throttle body or down the plug holes?

do a compression test. autozone sells testers for 25 bucks

What changed since it last ran. Any recent work, just isntalled this motor, etc. It could be 100 things, you'll have to help us narrow it down a bit

i changed the head gasket. what is envoled in changing over to a dohc non turbo?

I wouldnt suggest using starting fluid on a fuel injected vehicle, ive heard of it more than once actually blowing the head off the engine and streaching the bolts. I work at an auto parts store and one of the things we are told is that using starting fluid on a fuel injected car is a big no no.

did you get the plug wires put back on in the correct order? lol... it's been known to happen......
