...: Raid Project: Unimog and HDJ80 Dakar Team :...

Hello again!!

Well, in first time, the idea... :

Also I need Evergreen in industrial amounts , 6 auxiliary lights for Unimog, competition rims for the HDJ, 4 Hilux tires (resin copies), 5 baquets (resin copies), rool-cage (it is written thus?) of different thicknesses (for the interior of Unimog and HDJ), bars of protection of the body (Unimog), virgin decal paper (transparent) to decorate both cars...

I will do a private team of raids, something thus:

Sorry by the pic, I didn't find any pic of a HDJ of raids so I put one of the accident of Gismero Angel in Dakar 2004.

I must do the Unimog of box, but modifying the rear part; it will have two lateral doors (fixed) and two tires in the back part of the box by outside (example). Also I will let the ceiling "clean" (without the tools that brings the fire version) and make the bars of protection against branches and trees (you watch the photos of above, cover all the cabin sometimes and the superior part of the back box), in addition I will make the front defense and its group of lights. In order to finish with the outside I will put 4 stairs, two behind front mudguards and other two under the doors of the box to be able to accede to the interior of her. It can that it has to raise to the height of the truck seeing the photos of the box model.

In the interior will go two or three baquets (according to the space that there is) and the roolbar, the grates of the windows, the new instrumentation and the photoeched seat belts.

In the HDJ I must put the tires and new rims, to replace rear windows by evergreen and probably change the front windows by ones of plastic fixed (look this pic). In addition it would have to change the location of the fuel cap (in the ceiling or the high part of the back window) and nothing else aside from the chassis protections.
The interior will have the roolbar, baquets, steering wheel, instrumentation and harnesses.

Now I am looking for a decoration for the truck and the car, a sponsor that is quite great and later some sponsors more small.

In few days I will request the Unimog and the harnesses from Eduard to Japan, and will buy the HDJ here in Spain...

Greatings!!!!!!

Hey,

LOVE this idea!!!!! The unimog is awsome. There was acctually a dakar version of it once. I think it is very oop tho.
It is "rollbar" if that's what you were asking. And whad is HDJ? Is that what the toyota land cruiser is called there? Good luck on this!!! I will watch this thread like a hawk.

Hello blubaja

thanks for "rollbar"

HDJ is the highest (?) version of Land Cruiser. The LC of the pic is a HDJ80, but the actual version is HDJ100.

I will put many pics for help you (and me, because my english... )

Old version:

LC 90/95

& LC HDJ80

Actual version:

LC KDJ120/125. I put the pic of my parents LC and the LC that my brother co-piloted in 2004 here in Spain. This year (2005) he will go to Paris-Dakar having piloted an assistance truck, for that reason I have been decided to make this one project.

& LC HDJ100

See you!

Very cool project. I wanted to make a Kamaz team truck, but haven't found any donors yet. Besides Russian is not into the Car Modeling Market: so far what I've found was in die cast and in 1/43

Good luck on the project.

Hello!

I bought the HDJ in Madrid yesterday, and I did photos to him with the resin copies (Hilux whells) that I have in house... I have to watch if I modify the wheel passages so that it is not left the car so high... I will think while construct the model. You compare the size with the Renault and the Toyota Hilux.

the Unimog is ready to send from Japan

See you!
