For the Kiwis

Hello all.

I've done plently of modelling before, but mainly just Aircraft and Tanks. I've only ever built one model car and that was 7 years ago. I've been into Radio Control racing for years tho'.

The point of my thread though was to ask all the Kiwis where what shops they shop at for their Car kits? Just so i get an idea of what shop is best?

Oh yeah if anyone knows where i can get a 4th gen (ef) civic hatchback model, please tell me!!! I really need one!!

Thanks jay@af and mediamixhobby, but that is a 3rd gen civic.

Oh a mediamixhobby, if I did want to buy that civic, sorry i couldn't get it from your shop, as I live thousands of kilometres away, and i don't have a credit card either.

But anyway thanks for trying!!

Welcome along to another Kiwi

Having no C/Card makes it hard as almost all my models i get from www.hlj.com which saves me 15-20 dollors per kit.
For all the paints etc i go to my local model shop and get stuff. He has no web adress

Try Ace hoby in Birkenhead (north Shore)

or

Acorn models or Hoby direct on Great North Road.

Okay thanks for this..

I did know of these shops, I was mainly just wondering which you guys think is the best! Or if there were any little ones that arn't advertised much, which might still be good.

It sucks that the closest hobby shops to me keep closing.
The one in Browns Bay (which sucked)
The R/C car shop in Albany,
And there used to be one awhile back on Hurtsmere Road (I think)

Yeah I used to spend lots at the R/C car shop. It is a shme it closed down.

I find ace hobbies has better prices than hoby direct and Acorn models. Their paint selection can be a bit thin on ocasion though
