need head for 93 achieva SOHC

hey guys.. found out last night that apparently the problem with that 92 achieva that i have been working on for my gf's step dad was NOT due to a bad head gasket... rather we found that the head itself is cracked... his mechanic friend tried using some sort of sealant on it to see if it might be able to get it to have enuf compression to at least run for a little while... but it still wasnt quite enuf compression to start... although it definately was backfiring and trying to start better though... the local junkyard wants $75 for another head for it, but we are sort of worried that since its comming from a junkyard, that maybe that head might also be damaged or something... so i thought id ask you guys on here if anyone has a head for it thats not damaged and is in complete working condition? if so plz let me know asap, thanks

No surprise, the sohc heads are notorious for cracking even moreso than the dohc.. Ive seen fully reman. sohc heads on ebay, dont recall the exact price but I wanna say it was under $200, might try looking there.

Was bored.. and was able to find these for you on ebay .. there are 3 for sale at this time from the same shop, $149.00 plus about $25 for shipping doesnt seem to bad for a fully reman. head.
