I eat DOHC's allday! friend Tim with 88 hf with b16a SiR2 had 50k on motor, can beat him block to block by a hair. tuned by E-world! LS'S GS'S eat um up spit them out no problem begining to end. Teg Gsr's get me by 3rd gear. 03-04 si civs samething. Look im not bragging cause i dont give a f^% if u believe me or not lol im not into that lie over the internet shit to ppl who are hrs/days away shit! but i got ppl impressed with this lil sohc motor here in Reading, Pennsylvania

unless the b16a SiR2 has something against holding their gears.

i have a y8, stage 2 clutch, header, intake in 89 si. my husband has stock b16 + lsd tranny in his heavier 91 si. that is it. no bolt on's. zip, ziltch, nada, zero bolt on's. i can take him off the line all day long and that's it. all he has to do is hold his gear. the second i shift into 2nd it's over....and i HAVE to shift before him.

don't give me that chipped ecu bs either. your "mini-me" doesn't make power to no 9000rpm.

edit: we did a swap into an 88 std (lightest civic). it was a y8, stage 2 clutch, header, CAI, jg ported intake mani & TB, cam, a bunch of other stuff and a dyno sheet that reads 117hp to the wheels, 152hp to the crank. a b16 is like 130 to the wheels, 160 to the crank. that set-up can't quite hang with our stock b16....so he just had me find him turbo

No No dont get me wrong lol i get my ass handed to me time after time by DOHC's Im currently building a DOHC to swap in. When i was 17 i had a 93 cobra and i thought the world of v8's and i was close minded until i owned 4cyl's. But what im really trying to say is i got this little 1.6 litre sohc engine i was able to lift with one hand, and its lugging my 260 pd 6'1 ass around like im a lightweight and in the process is not having a problem holding its own against the more superior DOHC engines. Maybe my post liner was a little aggressive n all cause my adrenaline was nuts once i got back in from a few passes out on our infamous strip. All n all i just have this huge respect for these little sohc D series motors and i will probably miss it once i swap the DOHC or maybe not time will tell

Yesterday I got owned?! by an orange 4 door old school nissan with a gigantic APC sticker and wing that was level with the roof top... because there was traffic up ahead so I hit the brakes while doing 85+mph in 4th gear at 5,000rpms. That ricer just had to fucking rev on me and get me to downshift. Oh well...

I'm sure holding a gear can push a car further along momentarily, but depending on the driver's skills that doesn't necessarily mean a race will be won.

Oh yeah, and you are bragging... you should have titled the subject "respect for sohc" or something...
