94 Metro Lug Pattern
Does anyone know the lug pattern of a 94 Metro (2dr HB if it matters). How do you measure the pattern (I know, total noobie question), just so I can check my own rims. Also, does anyone know if there are other cars with the same lug pattern (most places dont have listings for Geos, let alone Metros)?

The pattern is 4X114.3 or 4X4.5 if you prefer inches.
 You will need an offset close to 35. Fords, Mitsubishi and many others use that pattern. Part of the problem is that most wheels are made for 12MM lugs, but the '89 to '94 Metro has 10MM lugs and they are short. That prevents many types of wheels from mounting properly. The convertibles have the same pattern, but use 12MM so they are easy to get. I found a set of Enki wheels on Ebay for cheap and they are thin enough to use standard beveled lug nuts and those were found at a local shop gathering dust,  If I can leave work early enough tomorrow I'm buying some cheap 195X60 tires for the 14X6 wheels the dealer with the nuts said he would mount, balance and install for $185. Another thing to watch out for is how heavy the tires and wheels are. Too heavy will make the car ride very rough. Too tall would raise the gear ratio and adversly affect acelleration which ain't the best anyway.

I was wondering now.... do you think that the larger rims with low profile tires are worth the extra costs and such...especially on a geo? I'm not really "pimping" or "ricing" out my car, but I am the "car guy" in my group of friends and the wheels seem to be the next step (since I've modded my whole stereo system and have an exhaust installed). as you know, i'm in the process of checking on that deal with 15s in another thread...just really wondering if it would be worth it to sacrifice my 13s for something that may be a little harder to work with but will look nicer.

If you really want to, you can knock the wheel studs out with a spike and hammer. And then replace them with 12mm studs. Just remember, you'll have to get very low profile tires for those rims, or your speedo will be off. Also, you'll have more un-sprung mass. So you'll lose a couple hp.
