Heater blower resistor pack needs replaced
I have a 98 Dodge Caravan. I need to replace the resistor pack. I can see the front of it sticking out of the firewall on the passenger side. I just cannot figure out how to get to the interior side under the dash. I took the glove box out tonight, but cannot see how to get through the mangle of other misc. vents, doors, hatches and plates. Somewhere on this forum I read where someone hit on the process, but cannot find it again. Does anyone know? I could take it to a shop and may be better off in the long run, but thought I would give it a try. Thanks.

Locate and remove connector from the resistor block located at the back of the engine comparment on the passenger side . Remove block by inserting a flat blade pry tool on the side of the resistor block and push inward. 2 guide lines are shown on the right hand edge of the resistor blocks to help guide the blade position .This will release the clip that holds the block in place , pull out block . Install is reverse of removal . you should not have to do anything from inside the vehicle . Hopefully the connector did not melt which sometimes they can , observe the block and connector carefully when you remove the block . |
