Alright guys, here is a tough one for you!

Alright guys, here is a tough one for you. One day my air bag light came on and my abs light came on at the saem time. Now my check engine light came on. Now all they do it blink every now and then, but they mostly just stay on and they don't SEEM to be causing any problems.

I thought it was battery or alternator.

Then when i went to the post office I went inside and then i came outside and tried to start my car. Didnt start so i came back later and started up like a champ.

I went to a car shop and they said it was bad ground. On my way home from the car place it started to spudder and everything started to tweak on my dash. All the lights came on, speedometer started to tweak out and then everything ust went dead. Nothing was on and i was driving down my road at about 30 and my speedometer said i was still dgoing 0. Then right when i pulled in my driveway it died.

So today i pulled it into the garage because i gave it a little jump, and i cleaned off all of the ground and power wires, and right when i sat in my cara noise went of, so i got up and did it over and over again. the noise kept coming on every time i sat down AND I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT IT IS!!!! it sounded like something was shorting out in the back top of the engine and now i just give up.

you guys helped me before so i hope you can help me again!

Did you check for continuity from the ground straps back to the battery. I had a similiar problem when I installed a engine in one of my cars and I had one of the ground wires pulled inside the loom so I couldn't see it. Same thing happen. My ABS light came on, air bag, my check engine light and my speedometer would flash. Sounds exactly like that to me.

Would def say a ground! did you check the main grounds at the starter?1 The just bolt to one of the mounting screws, these cause lots of problems! But yeah check the cables themselves too!

Yep, I'll chime in and say bad ground too. Sometimes it is easier to run a new ground than to find and fix the problem with the old one. Good Luck.

Re: Alright guys, here is a tough one for you!

do you have jumper cables?? but one on the neg battery and clamp the other end to the block somewhere(alternator case). if everything works with this setup replace the negative cable. also check the main power cable from the battery and the wires/ plug at the alternator. i assume they cleaned & properly tightened the terminals at the battery. also make sure the body grounds are not broken/ corroded

wow guys, your pretty good.

I checked the first ground running from my battery to the bottom of the battery holder. Thats where it connects. I was going to clean it off but it broke so I self-tapped another kind of thing onto the front place where the radaito is held and the headlights are held too.

that worked for a little bit, but I needed to change the Alt. and that did it!
