1994 Civic EX - Electrical problems?

The lights in my car started dimming on my way home a few weeks ago. The windshield wipers, radio, exterior/interior lights from bright to dimming in about 20min, until they no longer worked, but my car still ran. I figured it was the alternator or battery. I didn't wanna take it in to a mechanic and get d*cked. So I replaced the alternator and Battery. (Just incase) It seemed to be working fine, then it did it again, and again, and again.... oh then again.

I've taken the alternator and battery back to be tested and they say both are good. (better be,their new!) I had a friend check the lines to see that the connections were good and it was powering it. He said they were good, and also the fuses. (Of course he's not a mechanic so I won't rule that out) I've been without my car for weeks, and it's pissing me off. A few people have suggested a 'fuse line' or 'something under the radiator cap'. but until I know exactly how those affect my car, I'm not f'n with it. If I let my car sit idle, the lights and radio are fine, I used a voltage meter and it read standard. ...it fools ya! I let it run for an hour and a half, and all was great, but 15-20min. into driving and it's dimming again and dying again....

Like I said the battery is new, I've made sure there isn't currosion on it, and it's connected well. The alternator belt is very firm, but not too tight, and the connection TO the alternator itself is secure. I don't know what it could be BUT if anyone could help me with this, I'll name my first child after you! Even if someone could tell me whats involed would help.

car is still running and starting, so its not the battery or alternator. its hard to troubleshoot the electrical without a a map of the connections. get a helms or haynes with a map of all the electrical connections and pinpoint the problem with your digital voltmeter. there are just too much wires to randomly choose what to test. there may be a short or break in the connections somewhere.

use the electrical section of the helms or haynes as your map. start from one of the problems with your digi voltmeter and work your way to its origin. its only a matter of time and manual labor.
