Possible Tranmission problem???
Hello I have a 2000 GL and lately while drive normal speeds 25 to 65 mph the car seems to jerk. I noticed the tach and can see the rpms moving up and down which corresponds to the feeling of the jerking. I let up on the gas pedal and it seems to stop. However there have been times when I press down on the gas pedal again it starts up again. But for the most part the car run smooth no rough idle at all and easy start. It seems that it strans to shift into overdrive and once there runs fine but it struggles before the shift occurs. Can anyone help with suggestions or ideas? I hate to take off work to drive 75 miles one way to the nearest dealer and have to wait all day for something that might be fixed locally. Thanks for your help. I hope I explained my problem if not ask questions. I'll try to reply like I have knowledge HA HA I'm just a consultant not a mechanic.

Re: Possible Tranmission problem???
Have you checked the following?
- Transmission fluid level - Transmission fluid color, smell How many miles on the car? Have you had the transmission fluid changed at the correct intervals? [medic]Dave |

Re: Possible Tranmission problem???
there is a shift valve on the tranny that sometimes goes out. Do a search on this forum for the info. Otherwise I would just manually shift the tranny or put the tranny in 3rd and not use Overdrive. The Overdrive part of the 4T65 tranny seems to have the most problems. Manually shifting will most likely work.

When you start hearing the whining sound usually that means that the overdrive is starting to go out and fast for the 4t65. Take it in right away.

Just got the results from the repair shop. He said based upon the OBDII codes recovered and the symptoms, we need to trade it in ASAP.
