Need Help?

My friends jetta broke a timing belt and yup you guessed it he bent his valves. My question for him is do you have to buy new head bolts when you break torque on the old ones? His auto repair manual says on vw's you have to replace the bolts when you loosen them is this true, and has anyone used the same head bolts and it worked? Any advice would be appreciated new ones are like six bucks apiece.

Re: Need Help?

You need to replace them, you will likely blow a head gasket if reused. You can get them on the aftermarket for less. I think Advanced auto has them for about $2 each.
