OK, my dad owns this 89 Sentra. I've been looking around and found that you can put a SR20 motor in the 89 Sentra.
Since i live in CAli, bunch of tree huggers are all protective about the smog emissions. From what i kno, the SR cant pass smog in Cali. I want to make the Sentra more powerful and i think the SR is the way to go. But why get a motor swap when you cant pass smog? What ways can u do to make the motor pass smog?

Re: 89 SR20 Sentra Swap

keep it mostly stock. well there is a couple more swaps . the best for the buck vs. HP is the CA18DE(125) or DET(175) look over on www.nicoclub.com you also could drop in a n12 E-15ET (110)HP to be blunt with you a SR20de swap is almost one of the hardest to do in a 80's sentra . or just save alot of headach and just buy a SE-R,or G20 with the SR in it. you can find them for 2000-3000 bucks. your sr swap will run over this easy I have spent this and more. hope this helps
