weird codes that i pull sometimes on my ody

my ody sometimess comes on with the check engine light

i get the code
P0420 Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold ( Bank 1 )

the vehicle drives normal but i got this 2 times this year.

i wonder what it is?
any ideas?

Needs a cat. Its internally failing. Good news is its covered under 8Year/80k mile warrenty.

how do you know its the catyltic converter? have this happened before?

so if its covered i dont pay diagnostic fee right

Its covered as long as you have under 80k miles and the car is less than 8 years old. The dealer will probably make you sign off on diag fee just to cover them if its not a p0420.

There has been a whole bunch of them at the dealership i work at. Those and V6 and 4cyl Accords too.
