throttle cable
how to install i checked my haynes but it doesn't tell me how only how to check for problems
this is the cable that does from the throttle to the foot pedal just in case i am calling it by the wrong name also my headlights and heater are acting wierd they fluctuate my headlights dim and brighten while my heater blows out slow then fats anybody know why |

Look up "accelerator cable" in the back of your Haynes book. Mine has it in there, but it is a different year.

about the head lights and heater i forgot to mention the volt meter drops as well any ideas

Will they straighten out if you press the accellerator a little? Have you checked all the connections at the battery and alternator? Make sure the belt isn't slipping, if everything checks out I would lean towards a bad alternator.

as far as the surging electrically, I have seen a bad alternator cause the problems you describe, sort of a cause and effect situation. On some vehicles, a bad alternator even causes problems with the electronic fuel injection system

well i know that the belt to the power steering is slipping or at least i can feel the seering wheel tighten up and then release could these be related?

from what you describe, it sound like a loose/bad serpentine belt....it should take about 10 minutes to put a new one, unless the probelm is mechanical. perhaps a bad tensioner

i think i will have autozone check my alternator and go from there thanks guys
