Yesterday a couple of us went over to robs. and man some of his new kits like the West Honda Holly Crap what a kit.And i was on the verge of giving up car building and going over to the dark side(military modelling)
but now no way.he let me play with his new lathe i forgot how much fun it is to use one (machinist by trade). So today i ordered my little lathe and may also get a milling machine as well all for $1200 australian which bloody cheap. Rob made some pullies and a gear stick for paul (ef302) and i made him headlight bezels-steering colum with indicator stalk-radiator cap-mufflers-breather caps. And for myself i made a gearstick and handbrake levers for my 350z. Here is pics of the lathe and mill

Re: saved by robrex

This site sucks, it only makes me green with envy and drains my wallet...I hate it....NOT!
I want a lathe to, I'm soo impressed by the stuff that I see here made by the builder himself.
Let's see some fancy stuff from your shop too!

Cheers!
Niclas

For all the tooling and stuff for a good 7"x12" lathe about $500-$600.

Phase, I hate you. I've been trying to get my hand on a lathe for months! You lucky bastard.

Hi Dwayne,Paul and Rob. Glad to see the first two of you are still around. Love seeing Robs work on here.
Any chance of some pics of what you turned up on the Lathe?
Are you coming down to the Coast for the 18th ASRF Rod Nats at Easter?
Should be heaps of inspiration with over 1000 cars, Jack Daniels Drag Team(Alcohol FC, 2 x Pro Mod cars and 2 Harley drag Bikes) plus a Hot Rod and Street Machine Model Comp/Show.

Cheers
Tony
